The Kentucky Outdoor Institute or KOI exists to educate groups and individuals in the technical and ethical practice of outdoor adventures. Too often, those of us that appreciate and love the outdoors do avoidable damage or take unnecessary risks. This is a problem of education that can be solved. We strive to operate above industry standards as risk managers and pass these concepts on to our participants. Employing minimum impact techniques and appropriate technical systems to our facilitation, instruction, and guiding allows us to model best practices while providing high quality, engaging, and just plain fun experiences in the outdoors.
KOI is a non-profit, public education initiative of the at Asbury University. As such we also operate our programming as an educational tool for our Universitystudents to get hands on experience in Adventure Education and Leadership.
