Canoeing:

Highbridge-Dix River 4 mile paddle

This 4 mile version of our most popular paddle is great for first timers or those who cant get away for a long day on the water. At the 2 mile point of the paddle, we will stop to stretch our legs and take a look around. Our staff can take you on back from there for the 4 mile trip, or if your group is fast and your having a great time, you can upgrade to the 6 mile trip while you are on the water. Please call or email to schedule your day and time on the water.

All local instructed canoe trips meet at the boat ramp. Put in fees are included in the cost. Paddles and PFD’s (lifejacket's) are provided for all participants and PFD’s must be worn at all times. Trips will run rain or shine unless conditions become unsafe. Please dress to be wet, even if it doesn’t rain, sometimes people fall out, more often they choose to jump out! You will want to pack a few things: sunscreen, bug spray, hat and sunglasses, water bottle, and snacks or a lunch depending on your trip length. You will also NOT want to pack some things. We can take pictures for you, so leave your phone and camera in the car, along with anything else valuable. Even if it is waterproof, it will not do you much good if it is laying in the bottom of the river. A towel or change of clothes is a good idea to leave in the car as well.

Our instructors will give you a quick talk up about safety policies and basic techniques when you arrive, then help you get going on the water. They will be along to lead the trip and keep everyone safe as well. When on the water they can offer expert instruction on paddling techniques, they can tell you about the area, and they can be there in case anyone flips or if there is another emergency.
